2026 Potato Expo
At the 2026 Potato Expo in Grapevine, Texas, Jeffrey DeWald hosted a panel discussion titled “Succession Planning: Getting Across the Finish Line.” The session focused on practical approaches to farm transition, leadership continuity, and long-term sustainability.
Panelists included Bob Mattive of Worley Family Farms (Monte Vista, CO), Past President of the National Potato Council; Kathy Michael Sponheim of Michael Family Farms (Urbana, OH), a Potatoes USA Board Member; and Tyler Mitchell of Mike Mitchell Farms (Monte Vista, CO), a National Potato Council Board Member, who shared real-world insights from across the industry.
